The transformation FES wishes to see: A photo gallery

The transformation FES wishes to see: A photo gallery

Jashma, district Chittorgarh, Rajasthan

This picture shows the workers, mainly women, at the forefront of the training session on re vegetation given by FES  trainers at Jashma village. Revegetation is the process of revamping the soil for better production of plants and trees in that area. It can be done by natural processes or by manual projects. The one depicted in the above picture shows manual revegetation work.

Choona Khera, Rajasthan

This picture shows the villagers, both men and women, take a pledge to protect the pasture lands and cattle at Choona Khera. The reason for this pledge is not simply about afforestation, but on taking essential steps to prevent the kind of scarring that can damage an entire ecosystem. The healthy practices that are promoted via pledge taking are- solving the problem of cattle over-grazing, protecting pasture lands from encroachment, identifying invasive species of plants from non-invasive ones etc.

Satkhanda, Rajasthan

This picture shows the seed sowing session conducted by the trainers at Satkhanda. Seed sowing is an essential practice without which fundamentals of planting will remain unclear. According to one news report, there are four points which must be emphasised while practicing seed sowing- location, time, species and method. In this picture too, the villagers learn these four points while pragmatically handling the process of seed sowing.

Harisinghji ka Khera Kala, Rajasthan

This picture shows the training session by a trainer on re vegetation and seed sowing. Mobilizing and making the general public aware of the problems, solutions and development strategies are important ways in which we empower the villagers, in this case, it might be women. The picture shown above depicts one of the many training sessions that are organized by FES trainers and panchayats.

Semliya, Barbal, Rajasthan

This picture shows the villagers in a meeting for chargah vikas. Various chargah vikas samitis have been constructed, formulated in paperwork, even written about on the newspapers. But none of them actually show us the view of what brews inside these chargah vikas samiti meetings. We can listen to the picture speak to us as the villagers (men) participate in meetings for development projects of their area.

Hopefully the hard work put in by such a variety of workers will sprout in the form of new trees and plants:)
