Around 110 bighas of land near Surya Sagar pond occupied by trespassers in Badi Sadri

Surya Sagar Pond, a major tourist spot of Bari Sadri town, has started losing its form due to encroachment. Out of the 150 bighas of the pond, 110 bighas of land have been occupied by many influential people. Along with the occupied land and farming gardens, houses, enclosures and other constructions have also been done by making pucca walls.

Several memorandums were given to the administration and top officials for removal but no action could ever be taken. Due to the encroachment by the well-known people of the city, the local administration never tried to remove the encroachment. On Saturday, the councilors belonging to both the BJP and the Congress unanimously submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Officer Jawahar Lal Jain in protest against the encroachment in the Surya Sagar pond. It was said in the memorandum that 77 bighas of land are registered in the khasra number 1842 of the pond and in 2011, 1992 and the Bilanam land mentioned in 1991 is also recorded for the catchment area of the pond. But at present, less than 40 bighas of land is left on the spot. The encroachers have taken possession of the remaining land.

The information was given to the administrative officers many times but due to the pressure of the influential trespassers, no action was ever taken. During the handing over of the memorandum, Vice President Mustafa Ali Bohra, Lal, Jaroli, Nazia Begum, Maya Devi, Anil Chauhan, Bhavar Lal Regar, Deepika Chaudhary, Maina Gadi Lohar, Dhanpal Mehta and many others were present.
